Small circle

A circle on the surface of a sphere whose plane does not pass through the center of the sphere. In contrast to a great circle, which divides the sphere into two equal hemispheres, a small circle divides it into unequal parts. Lines of latitude, except for the equator, are examples of small circles on Earth.
