Kurihara grid
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006819
A specific type of numerical grid used in atmospheric models, characterized by variable resolution that increases towards a central region of interest. This design allows for higher detail in areas where atmospheric phenomena are most active or require finer analysis, such as tropical cyclones. The grid spacing can be adjusted to focus computational resources on specific weather systems.
