Variable resolution model

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009951

A numerical weather prediction model that uses a computational grid with non-uniform spacing. The grid cells are smaller and more densely packed over a specific area of interest, providing higher resolution, while becoming progressively larger and coarser farther away from that region. This approach contrasts with uniform grid models, which maintain the same grid spacing across the entire domain.
