Stretched gridded data
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010789
A method of representing meteorological data where the grid spacing is non-uniform, with finer resolution in areas of particular interest and coarser resolution elsewhere. This technique allows for more detailed analysis in specific regions without incurring the computational cost of a uniformly high-resolution grid across the entire domain. It is frequently used in regional climate models and numerical weather prediction.
