Nested grids
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007507
A computational technique used in numerical weather prediction and climate models where a higher-resolution grid is embedded within a coarser-resolution grid. This allows for detailed simulations of specific regions without requiring high resolution across the entire model domain. Information is exchanged between the grids, typically with one-way or two-way coupling.
