Sol-air temperature

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010765

A theoretical outdoor air temperature that produces the same rate of heat transfer through a surface as the combined effects of incident solar radiation, outdoor air temperature, and outdoor surface heat transfer coefficient. It accounts for the heating effect of sunlight on opaque surfaces. This value is expressed in degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit.
