Steady flow

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009239

A type of fluid motion where the velocity, pressure, and other fluid properties at any given point in space do not change with time. While the fluid itself is moving, the conditions at a fixed observation point remain constant. This concept is an idealization often applied in atmospheric modeling for simplified scenarios, such as a constant wind blowing over a uniform surface.
