Steady state

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009240

A condition within a system where all variables and properties remain constant over time, even though there may be continuous processes occurring within it. In atmospheric science, a steady state implies that inputs and outputs are balanced, leading to no net change in the system's overall characteristics. For instance, a cloud in a steady state would have a constant liquid water content despite ongoing condensation and evaporation.
