Steady state
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003603
A condition in a system where all properties, such as pressure, temperature, and fluid flow rates, remain constant over time. In reservoir engineering, it describes a production scenario where the rate of fluid withdrawal is balanced by the rate of fluid influx into the reservoir. This contrasts with transient conditions where properties change with time.
