Constant rate
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000822
A condition in well testing where fluids are produced from or injected into a well at a steady, unchanging volumetric flow rate. Maintaining a constant rate simplifies the analysis of pressure transient data, allowing for more straightforward determination of reservoir properties. This condition is typically achieved using a choke or a pump to regulate the flow.
