Stabilization
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003575
The condition reached during a well test when the production rate and flowing bottomhole pressure become constant or change at a constant, predictable rate. Achieving stabilization indicates that the test has transitioned from transient flow, dominated by near-wellbore effects, to a later flow regime like pseudosteady-state or boundary-dominated flow. For a well in a closed reservoir, pseudosteady-state flow is characterized by a linear decline of pressure with time on a Cartesian plot.
