Quasi steady state

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008238

A condition in a dynamic system where certain variables or properties change very slowly over time, appearing almost constant, even though the system is not in true equilibrium. In atmospheric science, this concept is applied to phenomena like persistent weather patterns or the slow evolution of a cloud system. It implies that the rates of change are much smaller than the characteristic time scales of the processes involved.
