Quartile

A specific type of quantile that divides a dataset into four equal parts, each containing 25% of the data. The first quartile (Q1) marks the 25th percentile, the second quartile (Q2) is the median (50th percentile), and the third quartile (Q3) is the 75th percentile. In meteorology, quartiles are used to analyze the distribution and variability of climate data, such as temperature or precipitation.
