Quasi-stationary perturbation

A disturbance in the atmospheric flow that exhibits very slow movement or remains nearly fixed in geographical location over an extended period. These perturbations are often associated with large-scale topographic features or persistent thermal anomalies. They can significantly influence regional weather patterns and climate variability.
