Quasi-equilibrium
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008240
A state in which a system is not strictly in equilibrium but is evolving slowly enough that its components can be considered to be in a near-equilibrium balance. This concept is frequently applied to parameterize convection in numerical weather prediction models. Convective processes are assumed to adjust rapidly to changes in the large-scale atmospheric state.
