Super high frequency

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009395

The portion of the electromagnetic spectrum in the microwave range of radio frequencies from 3 to 30 gigahertz (GHz). This band is used for applications requiring high bandwidth and line-of-sight propagation, such as weather radar systems that detect precipitation and wind. The corresponding wavelengths for this band are between one and ten centimeters, which is why it is also called the centimeter band.
