Threshold signal
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009643
The minimum detectable signal strength required for a sensor or instrument to register a measurement above its inherent noise level. This value determines the sensitivity of a meteorological instrument to atmospheric phenomena. For example, a radar system has a threshold signal below which it cannot detect precipitation.
