Saturation signal
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008663
A condition in a sensor or detector where the input signal exceeds its maximum measurable range, leading to a clipped or flattened output. In atmospheric remote sensing, this occurs when the intensity of radiation received by an instrument is too high, preventing accurate measurement. It can result in a loss of data or incorrect readings, particularly in areas of very bright clouds or intense emissions.
