Translucidus

A cloud variety describing a patch, sheet, or layer of clouds that is translucent enough to reveal the position of the sun or moon. The outline of the celestial body is visible as if viewed through ground glass, without a clear halo phenomenon. This variety applies to the genera Altocumulus, Altostratus, Stratocumulus, and Stratus, and it contrasts with the opacus variety, which completely masks the sun or moon.
