Opacus

A cloud variety describing an extensive sheet or patch of cloud that is sufficiently dense to completely mask the sun or moon. This variety applies to altocumulus, altostratus, stratus, and stratocumulus clouds. Unlike the translucidus variety, no details of the celestial body are visible through an opacus cloud layer, indicating its substantial thickness and water or ice content.
