Duplicatus

A cloud species characterized by superposed layers or patches of cloud at slightly different levels, sometimes partially merged. This Latin term describes clouds that appear to be stacked or duplicated. It is most commonly observed with cirrus, cirrocumulus, altocumulus, and stratocumulus clouds, indicating variations in atmospheric stability and moisture at different altitudes.
