Dupuit-Forchheimer assumptions
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010486
A set of simplifying assumptions used in groundwater hydrology to analyze flow in unconfined aquifers. These assumptions include neglecting vertical flow components and assuming that the hydraulic gradient is equal to the slope of the water table. They are often applied to model steady-state flow towards wells or drains.
