Transosonde

A constant-level balloon designed to drift with the wind at a specific altitude, typically in the lower stratosphere, for extended periods. These balloons carry meteorological instruments to measure atmospheric parameters along their trajectory. They were historically used to gather data from remote regions and study large-scale atmospheric circulation patterns.
