Triple scalar product
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010821
A mathematical operation involving three vectors, resulting in a scalar quantity that represents the volume of the parallelepiped formed by the three vectors. In atmospheric science, it can be used in fluid dynamics to describe the rate of change of volume of a fluid parcel or to analyze certain aspects of atmospheric flow. It is calculated as the dot product of one vector with the cross product of the other two.
