Tropical continental air

A type of air mass, designated cT, that forms over large subtropical landmasses such as North Africa, Australia, and the southwestern United States. It is characterized by being very hot and dry, with low relative humidity and minimal cloud cover. This air mass is responsible for heat waves and drought conditions when it moves out of its source region.
