Velocity shear
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009971
A change in the speed or direction of air movement over a given distance, either horizontally or vertically. This phenomenon creates turbulence and can affect the flight paths of aircraft or the development of atmospheric phenomena.
