Wind load
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010848
The force exerted by wind on a structure or object, resulting from the pressure differences created by air flowing around it. This force depends on the wind speed, the shape and size of the object, and the density of the air. Engineers calculate wind loads to design buildings and other structures that can withstand extreme weather conditions, often referencing standards like ASCE 7.
