API water

The amount of mixing water that API Specification 10A prescribes for each class of cement when it is tested for compliance with the standard, stated as a percentage of the cement weight. It is a test condition only, not a guide to the water in a field slurry, which is set by the required density and additives. Class G is tested at 44 percent water by weight of cement, and class H at 38 percent.
