Flange

A flat, projecting rim or collar on a pipe, valve, or other equipment, designed to be bolted to another flange to create a sealed connection. Flanges provide a strong, leak-proof joint that can be disassembled for maintenance. They are rated by pressure class, such as ANSI Class 150 or API 6A 5000 psi.
