Choke line

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000660

A high-pressure pipe running from a side outlet on the blowout preventer stack to the choke manifold. During well control it carries mud and influx fluids away from the rig floor so that pressure can be held and bled off through the chokes. It is paired with the kill line, which runs the other way and is used to pump fluid into the well.
