Contour map
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000836
A graphical representation of a three-dimensional surface on a two-dimensional plane, using lines to connect points of equal value. In geology, these maps depict subsurface structures, such as the top of a reservoir formation, or variations in properties like porosity or permeability. Contour intervals indicate the change in value between adjacent lines.
