Convolutional neural network (CNN)
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000851
A class of deep neural networks specifically designed to process and analyze visual data, such as images and video. CNNs use specialized layers, like convolutional and pooling layers, to automatically learn hierarchical features from raw input data. In oil and gas, CNNs are widely applied for seismic interpretation, fault detection, and identifying anomalies in equipment imagery.
