Convolution
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000850
A mathematical operation that combines two functions to produce a third function, expressing how the shape of one is modified by the other. In seismic processing, it models the interaction of a seismic wavelet with the Earth's reflectivity series. This process is used to simulate the seismic response of a layered subsurface.
