Reflectivity
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003081
A measure of the ability of a geological interface to reflect seismic energy, often expressed as the reflection coefficient. It quantifies the proportion of incident seismic wave energy that is reflected back from a boundary. High reflectivity indicates a strong contrast in acoustic impedance between layers.
