Daylight tour

The work shift on a drilling rig that occurs during daytime hours, also known as the dayshift. On rigs with two 12-hour shifts, this tour runs from approximately 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. The other two shifts in a 24-hour operation are the evening tour and the graveyard tour, each lasting eight hours on rigs that use a three-shift system.
