Seismic-while-drilling vertical seismic profile
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003322
A type of vertical seismic profile (VSP) acquired by deploying seismic receivers in a wellbore while the drilling operation is ongoing. The drill bit acts as the seismic source, generating continuous vibrations that are recorded by the downhole geophones. This technique provides real-time velocity and imaging data ahead of the drill bit.
