Depth section
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001021
A two-dimensional cross-section of the Earth's subsurface, where the vertical axis represents true depth rather than seismic travel time. This display is derived from seismic time sections through a depth conversion process, providing a more geologically accurate representation of subsurface structures. Depth sections are used for well planning and reservoir characterization.
