Effective velocity
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001254
The velocity of the fluid relative to the moving tool in spinner flowmeter interpretation, equal to the vector sum of the fluid velocity and the logging speed. The spinner response is assumed to be a linear function of this value, and plotting spinner revolutions per second against it across several passes gives the slope and the threshold velocity.
