Spinner reversal
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003543
The reversal in the direction of spinner rotation that occurs when a flowmeter tool moves in the same direction as the fluid but faster than it, so the fluid moves backward relative to the tool. On a plot of spinner rotation speed against line speed, the point where the response crosses zero marks a tool speed equal to the fluid velocity, ignoring threshold effects.
