Deflector flowmeter

A production logging flowmeter, also called a diverter flowmeter, that uses a basket or inflatable element to deflect the whole well stream through a narrow sensing section containing a spinner. Concentrating the flow raises its speed past the impeller, so the tool responds at rates too low for a fullbore spinner. It is used mainly in vertical wells at low flow rates.
