Elevator

A heavy-duty clamping device used to hoist and lower tubulars, such as drill pipe, casing, or tubing, into and out of a wellbore. It attaches to the drill string or casing string and is suspended from the traveling block by bails. Elevators are designed to handle specific pipe sizes and weights, with load capacities often exceeding several hundred tons.
