Elevation correction
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001287
A static correction applied to seismic or potential field data to compensate for variations in the elevation of source and receiver locations. For seismic data, it adjusts traveltimes to a common datum plane, removing the effects of topography. In gravity surveys, it accounts for the change in gravitational acceleration with height and the mass between the station and the datum.
