Static correction
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003590
A time shift applied to seismic reflection data to compensate for variations in elevation and the low-velocity weathered layer near the surface. This correction aligns reflection events that would otherwise be mispositioned due to differences in the travel path through the near-surface. It is typically calculated using refraction surveys or uphole shots.
