Dynamic correction
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001223
An adjustment applied to seismic reflection data to account for variations in the travel time of seismic waves due to changes in source-receiver offset. This correction aligns reflection events to their zero-offset positions, compensating for the hyperbolic shape of reflections on common midpoint gathers. It is a fundamental step in seismic data processing before stacking.
