Common Depth Point, a technique used in seismic reflection processing where traces with a common reflection point in the subsurface are gathered and stacked. This stacking process enhances the signal-to-noise ratio by summing multiple reflections from the same subsurface point. CDP gathers are a key step in creating a clear image of the subsurface geology.
