Secondary reflection

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003301

A seismic reflection event that occurs when a seismic wave reflects multiple times between two interfaces or between an interface and the surface. These reflections arrive at the geophone later than primary reflections and can obscure true subsurface features. Multiple reflections are often attenuated during seismic data processing.
