Peg-leg multiple
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002727
A multiple that reflects at different interfaces on its downward and upward legs, so its path is not symmetric about the reflection point. It typically adds a short extra round trip between two shallow interfaces, or between a shallow interface and the surface, to the path of a primary from a deeper reflector. It therefore arrives just after that primary, overlapping and distorting its waveform instead of standing apart as a separate event.
