Event

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001342

A coherent reflection or refraction arrival observed on a seismic record, representing energy that has traveled through the subsurface and been reflected or refracted from a geological interface. Events are characterized by their amplitude, phase, and traveltime, and are used to interpret subsurface structures. Multiple events can be observed on a single trace, each corresponding to a different interface.
