Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003380

A partial trip in which the drill string is pulled up a limited number of stands, often back to the casing shoe, and then run back to bottom. The driller does it to check hole condition, find tight spots or fill, and condition the hole before a full trip out. Unlike a full round trip, the bit is not brought to the surface.
