Pipe trip

The operation of pulling the drill string out of the wellbore (tripping out) and then running it back in (tripping in). This is done to change the drill bit, run casing, or perform other downhole operations. Tripping involves repeatedly making up and breaking out pipe connections, requiring careful management of wellbore fluids.
